Vulkem 116 Polyurethane Sealant

Vulkem 116 Polyurethane Sealant is a premium gun-grade, moisture-cured, one-component polyurethane sealant, designed to repair small cracks or fill seams or joints on concrete, metal, glass, or wood.

• Great for repairing cracks or seams in swimming pools, ponds, fountains, basins, pool decks, etc.
• It can withstand continuous immersion and should be top coated upon cure.
• If used inside ponds or swimming pools, the sealant MUST be overcoated with paint.
• It is not displaced by movement or expansion and is non-sagging.
• It can be continually immersed in water, exposed to sunlight and is resistant to weathering.

• Maximum use temperature is 180 degrees F continuous
  
  
• Shelf life is approximately six months
  
  
• Cure Time: Vulkem 116 generally cures at a rate of 1/16 in. (2mm) per day at 75 degrees F (24 degrees C) and 50% relative humidity. It will skin in 5 hours and be tack free in 30 hours. The cure time will increase as temperatures and/or humidity decrease. A good rule of thumb is one additional day for every 10 degrees decrease in temperature.
  
  
• Clean Up: Excess sealant and smears adjacent to the joint interface can be carefully removed with xylene or mineral spirits before the sealant cures. Any utensils used for tooling can also be cleaned with xylene or mineral spirits.
  
  
• Coverage: Up to 27 linear feet 1/4" width x 1/4" depth
  
  
• Surface Preparations: Surfaces must be sound, clean, and dry. All release agents, existing waterproofing, dust, loose mortar, laitance, paints or other finishes must be removed. This can be accomplished with a thorough wire brushing, grinding, sandblasting or solvent washing, depending on the contamination. Surface temperatures should be 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) or above at the time the sealant is applied.
