When overcoating Bottom Protect Sealer:
Apply Bottom Protect Sealer per label directions. Dries to touch in 5 hours. After last coat of Bottom Protect Sealer, wash surface thoroughly with fresh water, wait 12 hours minimum, sand surface with 80 grit paper, wipe surface with tack cloth, apply first coat of Bottom Protect Primer.
VERY IMPORTANT:
Application of antifouling over Bottom Protect Primer is critical. Antifouling may be applied directly over Bottom protect Primer by using the "thumb print" method. Touch the Bottom Protect Primer film with your thumb - if the paint does not get on your thumb, but is tacky and you can make a thumb print, you are properly in the "overcoat window". You can then apply antifouling paint. If the paint gets on your thumb, it is too soon to recoat with antifouling paint. If you can't leave a thumb print, you have missed the "overcoat window" & MUST sand with 80 grit sandpaper or apply another coat of Bottom Protect Primer and then recoat as above.
